Message something completely different. Street racing and professional drag racing are two different things. The original thread was referring to professional drag racing; "Where are the Z's?" Every enthusiast/car nut/gearhead loves a good street race and I do agree there is a good deal of satisfaction of winning one, even if they are 99% of the time performed in a straight line. The thing is, that's a private arena and no one really knows who is the fastest.. There's always someone else out there who IS faster. But in the professional arena, I dont see Z's going in straight lines. That's just how it is. My conclusion was drawn from that info and it only makes sense to think that people with Z's obviously aren't as interested in going in a straight line. The economics of it were pondered - bah - there are people out there that the cost of building a 9 second Z32 would be a drop in the bucket. What is lacking is the desire to do this with a Z32. I dont think it is by coincidence that a wealthy individual just hasn't thought of doing that. I'm sure they have, and it appears that only very few pursued it.
